What are the Benefits of Commercial and Industrial Roller Doors?

Roller shutters and commercial garage doors are an ideal choice for many Darwin businesses. Not only do they provide optimum security, but they’re also designed to withstand harsh weather conditions and keep the heat out during summer and winter.

Industrial roller doors are also easy to use, with most able to be operated manually and electronically.

What Colours are your Commercial Roller Shutters and Doors Available in?

At Darwin Roller Door Services, we supply commercial garage doors and roller shutters in an extensive range of colours.

For example, our B&D Series 2 Light Industrial Roll-A-Doors are available in a wide selection of standard Colorbond colours and can even be polyurethaned on-site for an even wider selection to suit your business’s branding.

How Often Should I Get my Commercial Roller Doors or Shutters Serviced?

It’s recommended to service your commercial roller doors at least once every 12 months. While our roller doors and shutters are designed to be durable and long-lasting, it’s important to service them regularly to keep them functioning at their best.

Not only does routine maintenance help prevent more costly repairs in the future, but especially for commercial business, a well-functioning roller door is important for occupational health and safety.

What is the Difference Between Roller Shutters and Roller Doors?

You may have heard these two terms used interchangeably but they have very different meanings and refer to two very different products in our range.

Roller shutters are durable, heavy coverings manufactured with interlocking aluminium or steel slats. These tend to be used in industrial environments on the outside of shops, supermarkets, hospitals, schools and universities. Shutters are used to defend building fronts and windows from vandalism or property damage, including burglary.

Roller doors, on the other hand, are rapid roll doors. These are used for the fronts of industrial buildings that do not need the same high-security coverage as others. These are much more efficient to use, especially in high traffic environments. These doors are much lighter than roller shutters and consist of only a single curtain piece as opposed to roller shutters which are constructed with many fitting slats hinged together.

How Much Does a Roller Door Cost?

Commercial and industrial roller doors are a very cost-effective solution for security, durability and building segmentation. We recommend high-performing roller doors for all size businesses because they play such a role in business success and security.

The price depends on a number of variables, including the size of the job and the complexity of the job.

We offer a variety of options when it comes to commercial and industrial roller doors so you can always find the solution for you. We also offer roller door accessories including an industrial shutter opener which can save time and labour for fast-paced business environments.

What Makes a Roller Door Secured?

Roller doors are constructed from top-quality steel designed to withstand forced attacks and break-ins. The way we design our roller doors is to hide locks and handles so there is no visible feature to use for access, deterring thieves who cannot find entry points.

The guide channels on either side of the roller door have been susceptible to burglar damage in the past. That’s why we design all of our roller doors with extra materials around extruded roller channels, making this a less attractive area of the door to attack.

This has been incredibly effective and continues to be an innovative design that keeps our roller doors secure.
